#1 · Nov 4, 2015 Hi guys, I have a 04HO, with the 3" kolak flowmaster muffler, magnaflow cat, superchip, But looking for another upgrade, I read about and heard before that its possible to change for the +06 4.7 intake manifold and gain about 30hp? What part number should i be looking for? Will this one work? Any expirience with this?

Supposedly the reason they changed the intake manifold if I remember correctly, is because they changed the cylinder head intake ports slightly on the later models, and the newer style intake manifold runners were a result of that. There is no power to be gained, and this can be seen from looking at the hp numbers on a 98 TJ vs a 2001 for instance.

What I did to be able to install a newer horseshoe style intake manifold on a 1996-1998 4.0l engine.. style intake manifold on a 1996-1998 4.0l engine. Horseshoe manifold should flow better.
